3 Learning together… Each of you learned about… The Differentiated Classroom: Responding to the Needs of All Learners What is a differentiated classroom? Elements of differentiation How to Differentiate Instruction in Mixed-Ability Classrooms What is a differentiated instruction is – and isn’t The rationale for differentiated instruction Find those that read the SAME chapter. Break into groups of 3 or 4. In your group, one at a time, share something you learned from the article (no repeating of content) about the main topic/s. Develop a group understanding.

4 Learning Together… Plan to “teach” the content from your article to another pair/small group Write 2 more questions that could be answered by reading the chapter OR 2 questions your group still has after reading the article

5 Learning together… Partner up with another small group that read the other Tomlinson chapter “Teach” one another the essential content The teacher can use the visual to assist instruction The student can ask questions and take notes

Comment on a classmate’s post by NOON on Monday. Read the 2nd chapter of the required text, Differentiated Instructional Strategies: One Size Does Not Fit All Review the contents of the syllabus and bring questions to class Monday, September 17th.
