3 Printmaking Create an suitable image for printmaking.
Trace around the lines, and transfer onto lino. Use a lino cutting tool to cut out your image; thin for line, thicker for shapes. We had to select which areas to leave as colour would be applied to these sections and which to cut out. To ensure the print is in the centre of the page, draw around it on a plain sheet of paper and then line it up. Register. Use of colour – apply a lighter colour to first layer. Clean lino between colours. Select areas that you like and then cut out [mask out] and then apply a darker colour over the top. Ink is water-based
