Trigger Crate: 1 LTU board 1 TTCvi board 1 TTCex 1 VME Pc (lnxpool31) Optical splitter 2 LDCs (or 1 GDC + 1 LDC) equipped with 5 D-RORCs (10 DAQ ch.) 20 Routers equipped with 1 Actel-based SIU each 1 fun-in busy board Software: DATE v5.24 ECS v2.8 Linux SLC4 11/12/2006 Ivan Amos Calì - 2nd ALICE Integration & Commissioning workshop

7 SPD - DAQ Hw Integration
Common data headers (CDH) produced by routers using trigger information (bunch crossing, orbit number, L2 messages, etc…) CDH checking enabled in DATE and tested with low trigger rate (SEB, misalignment between L2 message and BCNT in MEB mode) SPD Status bits (Block attribute) used to define synchronization and missing triggers between HSs. SOD / EOD information integrated in common data header and tested with ECS Extra data header produced during calibration runs Basic data format checking embedded in the routers System tested extensively in DSF with 10 routers (20 in the experiment) and used to develop performance studies on SPD sectors 11/12/2006 Ivan Amos Calì - 2nd ALICE Integration & Commissioning workshop

Software Integration DDL index defined for SPD (0..19) and mapping embedded in the AliROOT Aliroot and MOOD versions of raw data decoding and displaying (.date file based). Calibration Sequence DCS Standalone: ECS sends commands to DCS FSM and waits for the DCS state READY_CALIBRATION ECS starts a dummy DAQ run passing a run n to the DCS FSM ECS waits for the state STANDBY_CALIBRATION of the DCS FSM DAQ active: ECS start a DAQ run When DCS FSM returns to state STANDBY_CALIBRATION, the ECS stops the DAQ run The LDC scripts are started 11/12/2006 Ivan Amos Calì - 2nd ALICE Integration & Commissioning workshop
