2 Simple present is used for routines and habits
Simple present is used for routines and habits. Something you do everyday or in a regular basis. E.g.: have breakfast, study something, exercise, watch t.v. etc.

3 Affirmative He, she and it  conjugation: verb+S E. g
Affirmative He, she and it  conjugation: verb+S E.g.: Mary takes the bus to school everyday. Other pronouns(I, you, we, they) no conjugation E.g.: My parents live in Uberlândia.

4 Interrogative All pronouns need auxiliary verb DO He, she and it  conjugation: auxiliar do+S Do is an exception – do+s is NOT= dos Do+s = DOES Other pronouns(I, you, we, they) auxiliar DO (no conjugation +s)

5 E. g. : Does Mary take the bus to school everyday. (Yes, she does
E.g.: Does Mary take the bus to school everyday? (Yes, she does.) How does Mary get to school everyday? (She gets to school everyday by bus.) Do your parents live in B.H.? (No, they do not.) Where do they live? (They live in Udia)

6 Negative Negative He, she and it  conjugation:
auxiliar do+S + NOT Abreviation = doesn’t (Do is na exception – do+s is NOT= dos Do+s = DOES) E.g.: Mary doesn’t take the train to school. Negative

7 Other pronouns(I, you, we, they)  auxiliar DO + NOT Abreviation = don’t (no conjugation +s) E.g.: My parents don’t live in B.H.

8 Present Continuous

9 Present continuous is used to express an action that is happening at the moment you are speaking. NOW! E.g.: I am preparing a powerpoint presentation about present tenses. (Today is 20/03, and now is 6:31 p.m.)

10 Present continuous is formed by: Verb to be (am/ are/ is) + verb+ing In the present continuous, first you conjugate the verb to according to the subject I – am He - is You – are She - is They – are It – is And then add the verb with ing

11 Affirmative: The students are studying the present continuous tense. - The teacher is explaining the grammar topic.

12 Negative: The students are not/aren’t studying the simple past. The teacher isn’t explaining vocabulary.

13 Interrogative: Are the students studying the simple past? (No, they aren’t .) Is the teacher explaining grammar? (Yes, she is.)
