Introduction 3

Why use Impress? Impress is a free program to make different presentations as this one that you see. Sooner or later you have to use this program. But why? To make impressive presentations. To make an exposure. To explain something in class. To impress (yes, like the program) your teacher. To show something to an audience. In your future (high school, university, job...). Or just and simple to learn and at the same time have fun. Impress is part of a suite called OpenOffice but it can be downloaded individually. 4

Let's start To begin using OpenOffice Impress you have to access the program, then click next → next → create and now you can start using this program. The screen is divided into three parts, on the left you can see one slide, remember that a presentation usually has more than one slide, you can add slides clicking on insert → new slide. When you have more than one slide you can change their position by using the mouse. To delete one slide, you have to select it and then click on button “Supr”. The slide disappears! 1st Part 5

Let's start On the center of your monitor you can see a white page but... can you believe it? You can write, draw, insert images... - To draw different shapes just select a shape in the bottom of your screen and draw. - To write select the letter T, make a square and write into it. - You have another different shapes like for example dialogues, stars... - If you want to insert and image then click insert → image → from a file → and finally look for it. Another very important question is that when you make click with the right button of your mouse on the white paper clicking on slide → prepare page you can: change the colour of the page or even put an image background... Take it easy, this is a lot of information but you have time to practice. 2nd Part 6

Let's start Now, look at right and you can see different tasks, the three most important tasks that you can do are as it follows: - Designs: Here you can choose different designs like for example only text, text with an image, some images... choose one and prove it. - Animations: Yes, it's cool!, you can select one part of your future presentation and add different animations to it. - Transitions: Where you can choose what is going to happen when you pass one slide to another like for example animations or... sounds! 3rd Part 7
