What are various materials ribbons are made from?

3 Introduction Bows are used for various holidays, events, and floral arrangements. Bows are an accessory meaning they are not required for an arrangement. Bows add: Color, Style, Finished look to the arrangement, and can make the arrangement look more expensive.

4 Selecting Ribbon Single-Faced Ribbon: Has a shiny side and a dull side. Double Faced Ribbon: Both sides are shinny.

5 Selecting Ribbons Style: Cotton, Velvet, Satin, Nylon, Plastic, Burlap, Paper Twist

6 Selecting Ribbons Satin Glossy fabric Most common to use Easy to use

7 Selecting Ribbons Texture: Surface appearance of the ribbon from fine to coarse.

8 Ribbon Sizes Bolts: Ribbon is sold on cardboard spools. Common Sizes:
1-1 ½ ,3,9, and 40

9 Ribbon Sizes Ribbon # from 1-120 Ribbon Sizes from ¼”-4 ¼”

10 Ribbon Sizes 1-1 ½ and 3 Ribbon used for Corsage

12 Ribbon Sizes #40 Ribbon used for Wreaths
