Bellwork Periods 3 & 4 Monday, November 21, 2016
While I am returning speeches, please finish up your first paragraph about the chapter in the packet from The Glass Castle. If you are finished with the paragraph, read the chapter from Me Talk Pretty One Day. New writing prompts: 1. Sedaris is very sarcastic, but almost everyone can find humor in his writing. What did you find the most humorous about his description of his French class? 2. If you have ever taken a language class, how was/is it similar to Sedaris’ experience and how was/is it different? 3. Where does the author’s joy come from at the end of the chapter? Be sure to cite textual evidence in your response.

Please finish up your paragraph about the chapter in the packet from Me Talk Pretty One Day. If you are finished with the paragraph, organize your binders. Remember there are five sections: Bellwork and Exit Tickets Notes Handouts Graded Essays and Assessments (quizzes and tests) Vocabulary (including your Tier 2 assignments) I will do a quick binder check to make sure everything is in order.

For today’s activity, you have the following options: Work alone Work with a partner Work in a group no larger than THREE people Review your notes from the semester and skim the texts we have read from your textbook: Write questions at each of the DOK levels with the following blueprint: THREE DOK Level 1 questions FOUR DOK Level 2 questions TWO DOK Level 3 questions ONE DOK Level 4 question Please base your questions on the information/texts we have engaged in during first and second quarters.
