2 Conservation: protecting the natural state of the environment Stewardship: taking responsibility for managing and protecting the environment Example: In many areas, deer populations are over carrying capacity and have been destroying their environment. The populations have been controlled by managed hunts or the re-introduction of predators like wolves. Stewardship is necessary for preserving our natural resources for future generations.
