Step #1-Task Definition-Determine the goal or problem to be solved Step #2-Information Seeking Strategies-Decide on best resources Step #3-Location & Access- Find materials Step #4-Use of Information- Note taking Step #5-Synthesis- Complete written work, present information Step #6-Evaluation- Judge if goals achieved or problem solved in appropriate ways

Decide the subject/topic to be discussed What amount of time is needed to discuss the information? How much information is necessary?

Which resources will be useful in debate? *non-fiction books (especially in 300 and 600 sections) *magazine & newspaper articles *reliable online resources *databases

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) Search for books by keyword, title, author, subject, call number, series Information on location & availability will appear
