1 How to use AMGuss? Part 4: Calibration Ulrich Sonntag, GFaI e.V.

2 Possibilities to define the correct calibration
If the AMGuss program is connected to an image database (Imagic AG, dhs Solution) the calibration is automatically taken over from there. In the Standalone version the user himself is responsible to set the correct calibration (see following pages). If the calibration factor is known, it can easily be set in the program. If the calibration factor is unknown, the user has to calibrate it himself. Therefore an image with micrometer scale is necessary.

3 If calibration factor is unknown:

4 Calibration factor is unknown
Start the AMGuss program Load your own scale bar image Select file

5 Calibration factor is unknown

6 Calibration factor is unknown
Administrate Calibrations New calibration Start

7 Calibration factor is unknown
Fit the line by mouse operation Calculated calibration Finish Input of the real length

8 Calibration factor is unknown
See new calibration Close image file Do not change the name

9 If calibration factor is known:

10 Calibration factor is known
Menu point > Image sequence > Image sequence from directory … Or choose an existing one from recent file list. Select the directory (where the images are stored) OK

11 Calibration factor is known
Double klick on the image bar

12 Calibration factor is known
First option Menu point > Settings > Calibration for Image Sequence Press button with the double blue arrows > set current value as global one > YES! Change Calibration factor from to the real value > press <Enter> (not OK!) Now all images should have the same calibration of (only for example). You can check it by clicking of another thumbnail image. Then close the calibration dialogue (OK)!

13 Calibration factor is known
Second option Menu point > Settings > Calibration for Image Sequence Calibration list

14 Thank you for your attention!
