1. What is S.O. :
We are an competitive academic team who practices all year and competes at:
South East Regional (3/1)
Neumann University
States at Juniata College (4/28)

2. Who goes to the regional and state competitions :
All students who are members of the team go to Regional. Only 7th and 8th grade members go to States.
What they should bring to competitions:
Wear S.O. tee shirt
Bring snacks and/or money for snacks
Bring homework/classwork

3. To remain on the team the student must: Maintain an “A” in science
Maintain a “B” average in all other subjects
Attend S.O. practices at least twice/week
Students cannot:
Play a spring sport or be part of the SLMS musical to receive a wristband to compete
These activities interfere with our preparations for competitions and have a wrist band

4. Expectations:
To be successful in S.O. the student must be an INDEPENDENT learner who is self-motivated to dig deeply into their subject or event.
Practice time is for working not socializing
