15 D. Battle of San Jacinto Santa Anna was attacked by Texans near the San Jacinto River In 18 minutes the Texans killed half of the Mexicans

Texas was now independent

17 E. The Lone Star Republic
Texas asked the United States to annex them The US did not want to disrupt the balance between free and slave states The US also did not want to anger Mexico Andrew Jackson recognizes Texas on his last day as President
