2 Windows 8 or 8.1 You are using Windows 8 if your starting screen looks something like this picture. By toggling the windows key, you can switch back and forth between the start screen and your desktop.

3 Windows 10 You are using Windows 10 if your starting screen looks something like this picture. By toggling the windows key, you can open the start menu on the desktop.

Cannot delete—MUST unpin OneDrive Can (should) delete OneNote Microsoft Office Internet Explorer app opens from start menu and the program opens from desktop. They are different and do not talk to each other. Just like the OneNote app versus the OneNote 2013 (or 2016) program Windows 10 Cannot delete—MUST unpin OneNote OneDrive Can delete Microsoft Office Microsoft Edge is the default internet app and replaces internet explorer—can still use internet explorer or chrome or firefox

8 Office 365 Using the online version Using the desktop version
Light version meaning there are fewer options to use Similar to using Google Drive Using the desktop version Full or premium version meaning you have all the options.

10 Office 365 Can be linked from school website ( and selecting the " /office 365" button.

11 Office 365 Can be directly opened using the "login.microsoftonline.com" You need to download and install Office 2016. If you already have Office 2013 installed, you do not need to install 2016.

12 Office 365 These images show the personal account for office 365. You will not be able to log in this way. Remember to always choose "work or school account"; never choose "personal account"

13 Installing O365 Select the “install now” button.
Follow the directions on the tablet screen.

14 Checking You can check by choosing the “Mail” button. This will give you access to your school . If you need to set up your student portal, you will need the password that was ed to you from the principal.

15 Saving Files Microsoft OneDrive is where you need to save all your files. One Drive works just like Google Drive. It should be used for saving files instead of using a flash drive or “My Documents”.
