Single-family home rentals increased 14.6 percent year-over-year while townhome/condo rentals rose 5.9 percent. For more detailed information, please visit the HAR Online Newsroom for this and all other HAR news releases.

3 Houston Market Movements
The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements Much of the news surrounding the U.S. housing market is about rising prices and shrinking inventory. Although prices have been steadily increasing, we are only now beginning to reach pre-recession price levels on a national basis, and that's not the rule for all homes and communities. If demand stays strong, unemployment rates continue to dwindle and wages keep consumer confidence high, the market should remain active. In the Houston region, for the week ending April 30: • New Listings increased 14.9% to 3,286 • Pending Sales increased 25.0% to 2,4 • Closed Sales increased 2.0% to 2,271
