2 What we are trying to bring about…
Work readiness Employers report improvements in the work-readiness of young people ... Employment … and are more likely to hire them, resulting in reduced youth unemployment / NEETs. Skills alignment Employers report fewer skills gaps and shortages, particularly in relation to STEM … Productivity … which results in improved productivity …. Earnings … and increased earnings for young people. Equity The life chances created by the new system are available to all and lead to increased social mobility.

6 The Enterprise Adviser Network
Full time, Enterprise Coordinator per 20 schools/colleges to ‘join the dots’ between employers, schools/colleges & careers service providers 1 Enterprise Adviser (business volunteer) paired per school/college to provide strategic counsel to Principal/Head Teacher 39 LEPs co-leading the network Toolkit listing activities employers can conduct in schools & colleges

as part of an effectively functioning education and employment system; or as a safeguard against ineffective and imperfect systems.

9 Brokerage is essential
Education and employer links don’t just happen. They require prolonged effort. It is difficult for schools to manage employer liaison directly. The existence of a brokerage agency, brokerage professionals and a brokerage system are therefore critical.
