2 What is Nearpod? Nearpod is a interactive and motivating way to engage students in the learning process. Nearpod offers teachers the ability to plan instruction, break down content and gain insight to student achievement. Teacher Device - controls student view and allows you to view student work

4 Group Counting Display visuals and break down concept to support group counting Student work - finding equivalent fractions using ‘Draw’ feature

5 Reteaching Content Slides can be used for reteaching previously learned concepts. Visuals and strategies are incorporated into slides.

6 Assess Prior Knowledge using the ‘quiz’ feature
Quiz feature was used to assess prior knowledge. Visual fraction bars are incorporated in order to scaffold questions.

7 Data Analysis in real time
Student responses can be seen on teacher device in real time so that misunderstanding can be addressed prior to moving on.

8 Review content with visuals
Slides are used for reviewing previously learned concepts. Teacher think alouds are also provided.

9 Provide interactive practice with ‘Draw’ feature
Student iPads or Chromebooks become interactive whiteboards. Models can be faded as students are exposed to more practice.

10 Student Work Teachers can view student work on their device and review answers as needed.

11 Teacher modeling of strategy
Vocabulary can be highlighted throughout lesson. New strategies can be demonstrated through teacher modeling.

12 Interactive Practice Utilizing ‘Draw’ Feature
Student displays become interactive whiteboards to provide engaging practice of skill Student work can be displayed during lessons so that students may analyze each other's work

13 Data Collection - Session Report
A session report is saved each time the lesson is used and will provide an overview of student participation as well as performance on individual activities.
