1 The Process of Completing the 2016-2017 SPSA Modification Page

2 Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment
Wonderful High School has met with School Site Council and based on School Site Council approval, a budget adjustment is required.

3 Analyze student data to determine needs
Meet with School Site Council to present data, discuss needs SSC approval will be required

SPSA Modification Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment Complete Budget Adjustment Request through BTS. (Presented at prior LD South Title I Designees Meetings) Once the School Budget Signature Form has been completed, obtain the principal’s and the SSC Chairperson’s signatures Check the School Budget Signature Form for completeness (If required) request a quote from the vendor

SPSA Modification Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment The SPSA Modification Make sure you are using the latest version of the SPSA Modification template Go to the LD South Title I webpage for instructions and guidance (see the ‘Budget’ section)

SPSA Modification Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment Complete the SPSA Modification BEFORE obtaining the principal’s and SSC Chairperson’s signatures on the SPSA Modification, you may the WORD version (not a pdf or scanned version) to Robert or Lorraine for review and to provide feedback

7 Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment
SPSA Modification Scenario 1 – Budget Adjustment Once the SPSA Modification has been reviewed and is complete, obtain the signatures of the principal and SSC Chairperson Mail or drop off all completed forms to your LD South Fiscal Specialist. The packet should include the following School Budget Signature Form Quote (if required) SPSA Modification page (signed by the principal and SSC Chairperson)

SPSA Modification Scenario 1- Budget Adjustment LD South Title I will Obtain the two additional required signatures LD South Title I Coordinator LD South Instructional Director Once the Budget Adjustment is approved and processed, the SPSA Modification with all 4 signatures will be sent back to you through school mail or ed to you as a pdf Keep this copy with your SPSA

9 SCENARIO 2 Wonderful High School decides to purchase SRI instead of RazzKids however SRI is not mentioned in the SPSA

Meet with School Site Council to present data, discuss needs SSC approval may be required

Make sure you know exactly why the SPSA Modification is being written. For categorical programs only (not or 13027) Complete the SPSA Modification BEFORE having the principal and SSC Chairperson sign the SPSA Modification, you may the WORD version (not a pdf or scanned version) to Robert or Lorraine for review and to provide feedback

After the SPSA Modification has been completed, obtain the signatures of the principal and SSC Chairperson Mail or drop off the original signed SPSA Modification to the LD South Title I Office (Robert or Lorraine) Reminder … when a BA is involved, the packet is turned in to Fiscal LD South Title I will obtain the two additional required signatures LD South Title I Coordinator LD South Instructional Director The SPSA Modification with all 4 signatures will be sent back to you through school mail or ed to you as a pdf Keep on file with your SPSA

14 SPSA Modification SCENARIO 2 If needed, the completed SPSA Modification (with all 4 signatures) must be attached to the Shopping Cart along with all other required documentation (see the Title I Program Cheat Sheet for details)

Completing the SPSA Modification Page You will need to complete a SPSA Modification for all budget adjustments. Complete all sections: -Check mark Program -Check mark SWP -School Information -Data Sources -Reason for Modification -Measurable Objective -Goals -Focus Areas -Evidence based strategies -Dates (specific) -How you will measure effectiveness -Identify Expenditures -Budget Item# -Cost & Funding Source
