2 WHO WE ARE Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) is an independent public agency established in 1995. The Centre was founded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania as an expert institution.

3 WHAT WE DO The main function of the Centre is to assist HEI to assure quality and to constantly improve it. The Centre fulfils this function through: Assessment of the quality of higher education Assessment of the qualifications concerning higher education Provision of information on higher education systems and qualifications recognition

4 MY ROLE Together with my colleagues we coordinate 2 projects:
Evaluation of study programmes; Descriptions of study fields. From 2011 I have coordinated 12 international expert teams in 15 different study fields: aerospace engineering, production engineering, tourism and leisure, business, management, literature, medicine, physics and so on.

7 Lifelong learning programmes in Lithuania
Comenius for schools Erasmus for higher education  Leonardo da Vinci for vocational education and training  Grundtvig for adult education

8 Comenius programme statistics
In Lithuanian schools provided approx. 280 applications for funding each year. In approx. 95 provided applications received funding each year in the frame of this programme.

9 Erasmus programme statistics
For example, one of the biggest universities (University of Vilnius) in Lithuania has sent 593 students abroad on the academic year of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University has sent 493 students abroad in this period.

10 Leonardo da Vinci programme statistics
Around 4000 vocational training specialists improved their knowledge participating in the projects. Approx pupils were involved in vocational training mobility programmes. Around 600 business companies employees or graduates of the vocational training schools raised their competences around the EU. During the period of Leonardo da Vinci programme received 22 mln. Euros and implemented over 1000 projects.

11 Vocational education and training
75 schools providing vocational education in 2012 (72 of them are state funded) 260 institutions have a right to provide vocational training not being professional schools by origin. Around 4000 pedagogical teachers (2000 of them teach a profession)
