Competition for business within the retail sector has recently increased sharply, placing increased pressure on businesses to drive-down costs in order to maintain profit margins. There is increasing pressure on retailers to meet targets to reduce their CO2 emissions. One obvious answer for both these issues is the reduction of energy consumption by applying modern sustainable technologies .
The solution was found by using FlaktWoods Econet®system combined with eac’s unique Aquacool ® Recovery Package.
The advantage of Econet is that it combines all energy functions, recovery, heating and cooling are integrated into one package. Combined with Aquacool recovery system the resultant increased efficiency in heat transfer means far lower hot water temperatures (40/30˚C ) and far higher chilled water temperatures (14/18˚C) can be utilised.
Flaktwoods has supplied the air handling requirements for the new Stadtgalerie Schweinfurt Shopping Centre in Germany. Built on the sitreof an old ball bearing factory, the new 22,500m² mall is extensive, featuring 100 stores on two levels. It opened in Spring 2009 and is expected to prove an enormous hit with its Bavarian inhabitants.
The 16 supply & exhaust EU Units feature Econer
trecovery systems, heating, intergared local cooling and integrated local controls with connection to the BMS system.
