Holdings Management is a robust suite of tools in EBSCOadmin that allows you to manage your library's Knowledge Base and holdings for searching in the Full Text Finder and EBSCO Discovery Service interfaces. In this video, we will review the collection management features available in the Holdings Management tab.

When you are ready to manage your collection, use the appropriate links in the sub-tabs located next to Overview or use the links available in the Quick Actions section, including Create Custom Resource or Upload Your Holdings.

To search for a title in the knowledge base, whether managed by EBSCO or created locally, use the search box. As you type, the responsive auto-complete feature will display the titles containing the terms entered. Simply click on the desired title to view a list of packages in which the title is available.

The drop-down menu in the Current Holdings column allows you to add or remove titles from your holdings. If the title is already in your collection, it will be marked as Selected.

If it is not selected and you wish to select it, you can choose to add the title, or the entire package in which the title appears.

Search the package name using the Packages tab
Search the package name using the Packages tab. Enter search terms and click the Search button to find packages to add, remove, or edit. You may wish to limit to those not currently selected by choosing Not Selected from the Show drop-down menu.

Again, you can use the drop-down menus in the Current Holdings column to add or remove an entire package from your holdings. To add individual titles rather than all titles in the package, click the Package Name and select your desired titles.

If you are unable to find a title or package that you have in your collection in the Knowledge Base, you can create a custom package using the Create a Custom Package link.

To create a custom package, enter the details in the fields provided and click Save. Note: When creating a custom resource, such as a print collection, it must be assigned to a custom package.

The Download feature makes it easy to download your collection into an editable file to add or delete title information. Once edits are made, upload it back to Holdings Management for quick updates to multiple holdings.

If you have many titles to add at once, the Upload feature is a convenient way to replace, or append, your existing holdings information. This also provides an efficient way to update coverage or embargo information for titles. For more information, visit the EBSCO Support Site at
