To check their child’s backpack nightly for important papers or assignments in their “Home Folder”.

7:45-8:15 Students Arrive (attendance, backpack, Table Task, read/puzzle)
Students are tardy after the 8:15 bell.
8:15-8:30 Complete Table Task
8:30-8:45 Morning Meeting (morning song, morning message, helpers)
8:45-8:55 Restroom
8:55-9:15 Literacy Circle (concept words, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge)
9:15-10:00 Small Groups/Center Time
10:00-10:25 Recess
10:25-10:40 Story Time (amazing words, story elements, sequencing/retell)
10:40-10:55 Math/Science/Social Studies Circle (calendar, counting, sorting, patterns)
10:55-11:05 Wrap Up (re-cap of day, announcements, pack up)
11:10 Dismissal (bus/car/daycare/walker pick-up procedures)

12. Homework
A “Home Folder” will come home daily. On Tuesday, please sign the Pre-K Communication Sheet and return the next day in the folder.
Your child will also bring home a “Home Activity Spiral” weekly. You may help your child write their name and the letter that we are focusing on for the week. On the back, they may draw or cut out a picture of something that begins with that letter. When finished, they return it to school and they can share their pictures with the class.

Behavior Management
Our classroom behavior system is based on “Nurtured Heart”, which uses a positive approach to achieving “Greatness”.
Students receive a lot of verbal praise for making “Great” choices. If they are not following a school rule, they are ask to “reset” until they are ready to come back to “Greatness”.

15. End of the Year Goals
Child remains focused on engaging group activities for about 20 minutes.
Child demonstrates understanding in a variety of ways or knowing the meaning of 3,000 to 4,000 words, many more than he or she uses.
Child names at least 20 upper and at least 20 lower case letters.
Child recognizes at least 20 letter sounds.
Child independently writes some letters on request.
Child is able to login in & navigate through a computer website.
