2 Indonesian Music Culture
All of the island in Indonesia have many kind of music. There are different kind of music. Indonesian gamelan music is the best known of Indonesian music. Indonesia has a several forms of music. Dangdut is a very popular style of music. It is usually accompanied by free dance style. Kroncong is a musical genre that uses guitars and ukuleles as the main musical instruments Indonesian Music culture is a blend of diversity, there are many form types of music, that is blend with dances. It has its own culture and history. Several Indonesian Music Culture are: Gamelan Keroncong Dangdut Jaipongan

3 Gamelan Gamelan is the most popular form of Indonesia music. A traditional Music, that is originated fro Bali, Lombok < Java and India, and rooted form the Hinduism and the Buddhism. It is a blend of several percussions, Gongs, Flute, Fiddle. Types of gamelan are; Gamelan Degung, and Gamelan Slendro. A full set of gamelan instrument consist of; Kendang, Saron, Bongan Barung, Bonang Penerus, Slentem, Gender, Gambang, Gong, Kempul, kenong, Ketug, Clempug, Suling, Rebab. Some people believed that the first set of gamelan was made by a God.

4 Keroncong This type of Indonesia Music evolved since the arrival of the Portuguese, it is a low-class urban music. The most famous song of keroncong style is ‘ Bengawan Solo’ written by Gesang. ‘Langgam Jawa’ is one of the the developed keroncong style that used rythmic patterns that we could hear in gamelan music.

5 Dangdut & Jaipongan A dance music, popular since the mid- 1970s, type of music that is blend with Malay , Western, Indian and Arab Pop style of music. Because of the strong influence of the western style music, electric guitar is used in dangdut. A complex dance music, adapted from West Java. Its instrument is total Sundanese instrument, and it started to expand when Soekarno bend the western music culture.

6 Cornel Simanjuntak Cornel Simanjuntak is a patriotic and heroic song writer born in North Sumatera in 1921 and died in the age of 25, 15th September 1946 in Yogyakarta. Worked as a teacher and went on with his carrier a song writer. He did worked in the military, got shot on his leg, and died because of TBC. In 1978, his left-over was moved to ‘Taman Makam Pahlawan’ and on his tombstone was written a phrase ‘Gugur sebagai seniman dan prajurit tanah air’. His worked moved the spirit of the fighters during the revolution.
