2 Financial struggles. Fairs- Amusement Parks-
Many people don’t go to fairs as much cause they feel like it’s the same thing every time they go, and it comes once or twice a year. Even though many have financial problems some stay up and running and others get cancelled. Amusement Parks- A lot of people enjoy going to these kinds of parks for the fun, games, and rides. But the cost now and the way the economy is at this point, many cant even plan a trip like this.

3 State Fairs. Nevada: In Nevada, the state fair this year will be cancelled due to all the financial problems. It needs people who will do the hard work that goes into putting together any major event. Also sponsors who can put up the money required to take care of the myriad of costs that would go into it. And it needs people who will participate, whether crafts people, members or families interested only in rides and fried foods. Many were mourning that the 136 year event was being cancelled. Its to return to Reno in 2012, or so they think.

4 Continued. Missouri: In order to finance a new arena for livestock, Missouri is offering $343,000 in tax credit. The new arena will cost around $726,000 and would be connected to the existing livestock coliseum.

5 County Fairs. For the first time in 40 years Alachua County will not be having a county fair. Because of their unpaid debts in They have been dealing with financial problems since 2008. Therefore the Alachua County Association was denied to renew their lease to be able to manage the fairgrounds in Alachua County Commission. And in order to renew the lease and be able to run the fairgrounds again, they would have to set up a payment plan.

6 Continued. The Wattsburg-Erie County Fair:
Even though they 122 year old fair is having financial problems, they still will have the fair and it will continue. They say they have more then $7,000 in the bank and have secured donations. The fair had to pay off a $5,000 in electric bills and still is trying to catching up to pay premiums to the prize-winning exhibitors in the past.

7 Amusement Parks. Six Flags:
In March 2009, The big amusement park was in danger of filling for bankruptcy. Their shares are down 20% and have been trading for less then a dollar since September 2008. The amusement park say that it might be forced in to a Chapter 11. (When a business is unable to service its debt or pay its creditors)

8 Continued. SeaWorld: The amusement park has accumulated a total amount of $1.2 billion dollar debt! However is trying to refinance itself, hopes of saving themselves 14 million a year on interest. SeaWorld has been said to blame the: Bad economy Public reaction to the death of trainer Dawn Brancheau last year, for it’s financial problems.

9 Amusement parks, are not every kids dream. Why?
In today’s day we have so much technology, and by the min we’re getting more and more. Computers Phones Games Kids between the age 7- Teens (Mainly Boys) really rather sit at home and play on an Xbox 360, PS3, Or could be a Wii. So they have no desire to go to Fiesta Texas, Disney World, or SeaWorld. Also the rides to them may feel like the same thing over again and want something new.
