4 CERN: a Critical Technical Partner to Oracle
An essential partner that evaluates our products and direction critically Critical: 2a. Relating to or characterized by criticism; reflecting careful analysis and judgment 4. Extremely important or essential … 7. Physics. 5 CERN: a Critical Technical Partner to Oracle
Long, fruitful collaboration CERN is one of out favorite Beta testers Database 12.2, Database In Memory Columnar, GoldenGate, Big Data Discovery, Weblogic … Beyond testing: CERN provides valuable feedback on features and direction GoldenGate, Database In Memory Columnar, Big Data Discovery, Weblogic … and CERN also uses in production (and buys) our products always a good thing Oracle Confidential – Internal/Restricted/Highly Restricted

6 Oracle Projects for CERN openlab V
2015 Database and Systems Management Oracle Database (12.1, 12.2, …) Oracle Enterprise Manager Java Platform PaaS for Java web applications Better SSO integration, standard Oracle WLS libraries, Coherence, etc. Replication using GoldenGate Continuous availability during upgrades Power replication of data to CERN worldwide grid Oracle Confidential – Internal/Restricted/Highly Restricted

7 Maria Girone – CERN openlab CTO
2016 Plans Data Analytics Deploy Oracle analytic and streaming technologies for predictive maintenance on sensor data Further deploy visualization and discovery technologies Database evolution and monitoring Database in-memory and sharding for CERN use cases Deploy OEM 13c in production, integration with CERN SSO Containers for databases Evaluate ZFS appliance Java, Cloud and Virtualization PoC Linux Containers based system for Weblogic Test Oracle Public Cloud (IaaS & PaaS) as platform for a "Disaster Recovery Plan” Work towards a fully supported and interoperable cloud/virtualization stack Data Analytics Implement and deploy Oracle analytic and streaming technologies (ORE, ORAAH, OSX) for predictive maintenance on sensor data. Deploy BDD integrate visualization and discovery technologies and integrate it for FCC RAMS and open it to more users.
