2 John Cabot’s life story
John Cabot was most likely born in Genoa Italy. His father was a spice merchant and John had grown up helping him. 1450- John moved to Venice at 11 years old. Where it is thought to be where he had learned to sail. 1489- John has moved to Bristol New England. This is where he changed his name to John Cabot.

3 John gets his voyage started
Some wealthy Englishmen liked Johns ideas and with that they decided to pay for his journey. The Englishmen are also wanting to see if John could find a quicker route to Asia for quicker trades. John on his journey took a ship named the Matthew.

5 A Twist In The Findings 1497- John made it to North America with a crew of 18 other men along with him. Once he had arrived he mistook it for Asia. He thought Indians were Asians.

6 John finally does it John had sailed along the coast and past Labrador and Newfoundland and New England for fifty days with 300 men aboard and he took 4 to 5 ships. After fifty days passed by John claimed some land he had found for New England which pleased the king and also gave him fortune and fame and the king paid him 20 ₤ (pounds) a year.
