Introduction
Today I’m going to talk about the VDH data portal, which was launched last November. This is a new direction for data in Virginia in terms of disseminating public health information and data in one central repository using dynamic visualizations and operability with the data.

I will give a little background on how VDH presented data in the past, describe the data portal and highlight the process for creating the portal, give a demonstration of how to use the portal, and have a quick activity showing the usability of the portal to answer public health questions. I’ll also highlight our future plans for the cancer page and provide another cancer data visualization resource
