2 Car batteries are built to last for five years... Changing a battery is an easy task which requires limited tools.

3 Check if it Needs To Be Replaced Check if your old battery has sulfate deposits which form as a blue residue. Check if your battery has been given enough time to recharge properly. Check the alternator to ensure that it is functioning properly.

8 Install The New Battery Clean the terminal clamps and the battery tray using baking soda. If the terminal ends appear to be corroded you need to replace them. Place the new battery and connect the screws which hold the battery. First Reconnect the positive terminal using a wrench followed by the negative terminal. Apply battery lithium grease or petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion. Start your car and check if all the electronic devices are functioning well.
