2 Metrics & KPIs Dictionary Definition
Metric – A system or standard of measurements (Dictionary.com) eg: length – the measures can be meters, feet, yard, km, cm Exam marking productivity – measured in terms of exam papers per hour, or exam questions per hour, Performance indicator - a quantitative or qualitative measurement, or any other criterion, by which the performance, efficiency, achievement, etc of a person or organization can be assessed, often by comparison with an agreed standard or target (Collin Dictionary) Key Performance Indicator – A set of quantifiable measures that a company or industry uses to gauge or compare performance in terms of meeting their strategic and operational goals (Investopedia.com)

5 Dashboards Original use: A Dashboard is a customisable data visualisation tool for displaying important and real time business KPIs for an organisation. Extended use – show KPIs of projects, or business units, products, etc Project Dashboard – some groups already implemented that in their Trello project communication tool

10 Activity 3 Design a dashboard for the whole tutor class.
Conduct a practice dashboard first: Your tutor will put up each individual’s personal details on the whiteboard: Second name Age Height cms type of Pet Pet name Degree (most recent) birth place Enter these details into an excel spreadsheet and then create a dashboard via a pivot table – follow the steps in the youtube video The dashboard should include a variety of graphs showing all the details of your table Now create a diagram showing the dashboard, and a detailed design for each component.
