2 The human body has many systems
The Muscular system The Skeletal System The Circulatory System The Respiratory System The Digestive System The Nervous System

3 The Muscular System Your Muscles make it possible for you to move your body and even speak. Since your muscles only pull, they often work in pairs. You have about 650 muscles in your body. Your muscles can get stronger and bigger as you grow and exercise. Go, Go! Heave, hoe!

4 The Skeletal System Your bones support your body and give it shape.
Bones also protect internal organs. You have 206 bones in your body, but you are born with 300. Bones of the Head Trachea, Pharynx, Bronchi, Zigomatic, Parietal, Temporal, Ethenioid and Sphenoid.

5 The Circulatory System
The Circulatory system is an organ system that permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients to the body. The Circulatory system consists of the Heart, Lungs, Arteries, Veins and Blood Vessels. pump! Pump! Let’s go!

6 The Respiratory System
The respiratory system works to move the oxygen that is in the air, down to your lungs. Your lungs then move the oxygen into your bloodstream. Now, the oxygen gets pumped to every living cell in your body. The respiratory system consists of lungs, Pharynx, Trachea and the Bronchi.

7 The Digestive System When you swallow your food, it goes down the esophagus into the stomach. Here it churns up the food for hours. Then, it is gradually squeezed out through the Small Intestine. Next, what is left of the food, passes through the Large Intestine. After 24 hours of eating the food, the remaining waste is pushed out of the body. The digestive system consists of the the Mouth, Throat, Esophagus, Stomach, Large intestines and the Anus. ,

8 The Nervous System The nervous system collects and stores information an controls all your body’s activities. The nervous system sends out messages to your body like a telephone line. Right foot, Move! Left arm, pump!

9 The Brain The brain is the control center of the whole human body.
The top of the brain is divided into two domes. The left side of your brain looks after the right and controls speech and language. It also is used for other tasks like adding, or tying a shoelace. The right side of the brain is used for thinking up pictures. It controls the left side.

10 The Heart The heart’s job is to pump blood to the lungs and then all around the body. There are 4 chambers in the heart- Left and Right Atrium, Left and Right Ventricle. The right side of the heart takes in blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs. The left side takes blood filled with oxygen from the lungs and pumps it to the rest of the body.

11 Fun Facts Your body sheds up to 50,000 flakes of skin every minute.
Nails grow faster in summer than in winter. Bones can support more weight than concrete. The brain can handle 1 billion billion nerve messages per second. Even standing still uses more than 300 muscles. Taste bud cells live for only days before they are replaced. The largest multiple birth to survive were octuplets. You share 50% of your DNA with a banana. Wow!!!!!
