1 Focusing on Quality at UTT

2 Quality at UTT is represented through the university’s ability to:
Demonstrate and Maintain Senior Management Commitment Engage in evidence-based decision making/planning Increase Productivity and Efficiency Evaluate, Reward, Enhance Performance

3 UTT’s quality policy states that:
“UTT will position itself at the forefront of the national tertiary education thrust to create a productive and resilient workforce that is committed to innovation and entrepreneurship and meets the current and future challenges of a globalised economy.”

4 Utt’s Quality Policy As a tertiary level institution UTT strives to focus on quality by: “support[ing] the development of a transformative culture of lifelong learning that stimulates the intellectual capacity of students, faculty and all stakeholders to create opportunities for personal growth; success; and meaningful contribution to national development.”

5 Tenets of UTT’s Quality Policy
In addition to institutional and specialised accreditation, UTT must be mission-driven and results oriented to achieve its institutional purpose and meet or exceed the expectations of its stakeholders. UTT must also strive to consistently demonstrate stakeholder engagement and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

6 UTT’s Institutional Accreditation
UTT is accredited as a university by ACTT for the period December 17, 2010 – December 16, UTT is authorised to offer accredited degrees up to the doctoral level. UTT was visited by a team of External Evaluators in September 2017 in an effort to be reaccredited for a further seven years.

7 the Quality Management Review Committee (QMRC )
Purpose of the Quality Management Review Committee (QMRC ) The purpose of the QMRC is to review the UTT’s QMS in order to assess its continued relevance, effectiveness and sustainability whilst satisfying the requirements of the institution’s stated quality policy and objectives.

8 Quality Month at UTT In November 2016, QA&IE celebrated UTT’s first-ever Quality Month to coincide with worldwide celebrations of quality. The main goal of this annual event is to raise awareness of the quality, continuous improvement and performance excellence field and quality professionals worldwide. The theme for this year's Quality Month celebrations is “Quality Matters: Focusing on Quality in Education, Safety, Wellness and the Environment”.”.

Raise awareness about the notion that quality is everyone’s business Spotlight UTT’s successes in quality Generate solutions to enhance work processes across UTT Recognise employees for creative ideas Obtain feedback from students on why quality matters to them Foster greater quality awareness and wider dissemination of quality control activities

11 About QA&IE The purpose of the Office of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness is to maintain and improve UTT’s Quality Management System and support effective institutional decision-making and innovation through data collection and analysis, monitoring, review and evaluation, policy analysis and planning, and the promulgation of tertiary education best practice.
