11 To halve a recipe Multiply by ½ (fractions) ½ X ½= ¼ Or ¼ x ½=1/8
Divide by 2 (whole #) 2/2=1 8/2=4

12 To double a recipe Multiply by 2 or 2/1 (fractions) 4 eggs x 2=8 eggs
¼ cup x 2/1=2/4 cup or ½ cup

13 How do you measure…… 1/8 of a cup??? There is no 1/8 cup!!!!
Convert it to tablespoons!!! 16 Tablespoons in a cup 16 x 1/8=16/8=2 Tablespoons

15 Let’s Practice!!! A Measure of Success-Group Work-1 paper per table-WORK TOGETHER!! Using the measuring spoons and measuring cups at your table, tell how to measure the following ingredients. Write your answers down! Ex. 4 Tbs. sugar=1 Tbsp.x4 or ¼ cup
