3 Cavalry – soldiers on horseback

4 Infantry –soldiers trained and armed to fight on foot

5 Reform – make changes to improve something

6 Revolution – a forcible overthrow (change) in a government for a new system.

7 Barracks – a building in which soldier live

8 Reinforcements – extra soldiers sent to a place to make the force there stronger

9 Compromise – an agreement in which each side gives up some of what it wants in order to gain something more important

10 Independence – the state of being free from someone else’s control

11 Siege – a military strategy in which an army surrounds a town or fort, bombards it, and waits for the enemy to surrender

12 Bayonet – a long blade that can be attached to the end of a gun
