2 FET Strength of an electric field controls the conductivity of a connection. Junction FET (JFET) Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET).

4 JFET Conductivity Width of channel
Positive gate removes negative carriers from channel. Negative gate widens channel.

5 Metal Oxide Semiconductor FET MOSFET

6 MOSFET Gate is isolated (through SiOxide) from the channel.
Channel allows conductivity. Chokes off with negative gate. Widens with positive gate.
