Why did they want to explore? Indies (India, Japan, China) – Silk and spices for cheaper (don’t need to pay taxes) What dangers were there in exploring? Christopher Columbus From Spain – 3 ships – Found the Caribbean Islands Main goal? Created the idea of slavery What does this teach us about history and what we should be careful of?

Where was the first fur trading post? Tadoussac What did Europeans want? What did Aboriginal people want? Europeans: Fur and felt (hats, fashionable clothing), corn, beans, squash Aboriginal people: Metal, tools, weapons, clothing, alcohol
