3 Child Care Providers in 2012
As you can see, the amount of children in a childcare center is more than double that of any other kind. The benefits it has on the development of your child is life changing and will influence your child for years to come Approximately 75% of U.S. children currently experience routine non-parental care (e.g. preschool) before they enter kindergarten (U.S. Census Bureau, 2006).

4 How do we know Child care centers are effective?
Effects of early child care on children's functioning from 4½ years through the end of 6th grade were examined in the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. The results indicated that although parenting was a stronger and more consistent predictor of children's development than early child- care experience, higher quality care predicted higher vocabulary scores and more exposure to center care predicted more teacher-reported externalizing problems. Children are able to experience interactions they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to experience along with

5 Importance of social interaction
Even at an early age, social interaction is integral for healthy childhood development, which will have a lifelong impact on an individual’s personality and capabilities. Interaction between children of the same age is beneficial to their emotional, educational and social development. Children learn quicker and easier when they see other children doing it. Helps your child learn to work well with others and understand social cues. Builds friendships which are essential to build confidence and self esteem.

6 In order for the childcare center to be effective they must…
Have the proper licensing and certifications. Use hands on learning with the children. Have the right age appropriate toys to play and learn with. Have a high quality staff that engages well with the children. Set individual goals for the children. (children learn at different rates and not all children can be taught the same way). Have the proper staff:child ratio.

7 Testimony’s From Parents
“My children learned more in 2 weeks at a daycare facility than 4 months at an in-home daycare provided by my family members.” –Tina Mathis “My daughter comes home excited to tell me all about her day and new friends she is making”-Lindsay Thompson “I have experienced every kind of childcare out there and the level of education and social communication skills my children have acquired from our preschool facility is outstanding compared to the in-home supervisors and previous nannies I have used. The teachers are hands on and have a curriculum on which they teach off of. They are not merely supervising my children, they are helping to advance their education and put them on the right track to their school years.” Tori DelVechio
