2. Background
Commerical companies have already started their services with “keyword”.
In Dec. 1999, a Hangul Name WG was formed under Name Committee.
Expanded into 6 sub-WGs:
- Requirements SLD
- Registration Policy - Protocol
- Coordination Testing

3. Internet Names Requirements
Not locked into Korean only solution
Encompass both DNS and keyword
No specific encoding point
Legacy support
Combination of Korean, English, Chinese
8-bit friendly BIND

Other Korean Internet Names (Keyword): Commercial Companies
=> We are still making consensus.

5. Hangul SLDs Two schools to be thought:
- tanslation of full or sub-set of existing English SLDs
Creation of completely new Hangul SLDs

16 geographical names
Creation of new Hangul SLDs
exploit high popularity in co.kr

There are several research projects related to Hangul Domain Name which will be finished within 2000.

A Domain Name Dispute Organization will be launched outside KRNIC.
