1. Safety Guidelines for Cell Phone Use
Be aware of all local, county, city, and state laws and regulations regarding cellular phone use. Ignorance of the law will not excuse a violation of the law.
Safety must come before all other concerns.
When at work:
Refrain from using cell phones while performing physical work, work that requires use of both hands, or work that requires careful attention, such as operating equipment, supervising critical activities, ascending or descending stairs, and transferring flammable liquids or gases.
Stop any such work before placing or accepting a call or otherwise using a phone.
If acceptance of a call is unavoidable and stopping work is not an option, keep the call short, use hand- free options, refrain from discussions of complicated or emotional topics, and stay focused on work.
If job responsibilities include the use of a phone while performing such work, hands-free equipment must be used.

2. Safety Guidelines for Cell Phone Use
When in a vehicle:
Refrain from using cell phone while driving.
Pull off to the side of the road and safely stop the vehicle before placing or accepting a call.
If acceptance of a call is unavoidable and pulling over is not an option, keep the call short, use hand- free options, refrain from discussions of complicated or emotional topics, and keep your eyes on the road.
Special care needs to be taken in situations where there is traffic, inclement weather, or when you are driving in an unfamiliar area.
If you regularly drive during the day and accepting of business calls is required, hands-free equipment must be used.
Never text message, , etc. while driving. You must pull over.
Under no circumstances are you allowed to place yourself at risk to fulfill business needs.
If you are charged with traffic violations resulting from your use of a cell phone while driving, you are solely responsible for all liabilities that result from such actions.
