1 Medical Terminology BellWOrk
The weekly process: It will be very similar to last year, except we will now be using notebooks that are stored in the classroom. You will each have a folder in a class bin Monday – get your notebook from the bin and copy the terms; we will then go over the definitions together; notebooks will go back in the bins Tuesday – Friday – you’ll answer the daily bellwork questions using your list from Monday. Tue.-Thur. you will return the notebooks to their bins; Friday, you will turn in the notebooks for grading.

Please answer the following questions in your vocabulary notebooks. Be sure to use Monday’s list to help you. Please re-write the following sentences replacing the words in bold with their correct abbreviation. Katrina wasn’t feeling well so she had the doctor measure her blood pressure. John went against medical advice when he went running after work. When Melissa took her own heart rate, she measured 82 beats per minute. At Amanda’s physical therapy appointment, they measured her active assisted range of motion at 87 degrees.

Please answer the following questions in your vocabulary notebooks. Be sure to turn in your notebooks for grading when you complete today’s bellwork! In your own words, explain what a first responder is going to evaluate when they check AVPU. In the simplest terms possible, explain the difference between the ASIS and the AIIS.
