NCAA Rules: Freshmen & Sophomore College coaches CANNOT call or you, except for DIII schools Players can complete recruitment questionnaire on program website You can be sent information on camps and clinics as well as non-athletic recruitment publications You can attend their prospect camps College coaches can watch you play, but cannot speak with you NCAA Rules: Junior September 1st of your junior year, college coaches can call and you Coach can send recruitment materials to player NCAA Rules: Senior Unlimited s from college coach Only one phone call per week from a college coach

Students: Can you academically get into their college/university on your own or would you need the coach’s support? Athletes: Can you fit into their system and help them win? It does not matter what level or team you play on – as long as the coach feels you can help their program win, they will recruit you! 16 THE SPORT SOURCE GPS provides a MEMBERS ONLY – COLLEGE CENTER all its members via a partnership with The Sport Source, one of the nation’s leading college support services. The Members Only College Center helps families learn how to create a personal plan and provides them with instant access to 5800 Universities and 5000 college coaches. This program also provides players with the opportunity to create their own GPS personalized Player Resumes and Cover Letters which they can then send out to College Coaches of their choice. As well as having a soccer focus, there are also tools to help your academics, such as free SAT practice tests!

17 THINKING ABOUT AFTER THE COLLEGE SEASON- PDL/U23
GPS provides an avenue for players playing at the collegiate level via our PDL team, the GPS Portland Phoenix (Maine). The Phoenix have produced a number of players who have graduated to the professional ranks and provide a perfect bridge for those players aspiring to play at the highest level of the game. GPS U23 Summer Season allows both male and female Collegiate players to continue their College preparation in a competitive league against other Collegiate players.
