1 GAZETTE Got Blood? Volume 7, Issue 3 Dec 18, 2015 Hanging With Rumble
Hanging With Rumble Got Blood? On the 16th of December a Bronco Battalion Color Guard team went to the Chesapeake Energy Arena to present colors at a Thunder game. The team consisted of, 4 seniors, Kameron Nelson, Brittany Woodruff, Alec Long, and Drayton Abernathy. This is one of the most important presentations of the year since it sets the bar for following years. They represented us well and we are invited back again in January. Let’s hope we keep impressing them and keep getting invitations. Just recently the Bronco Battalion hosted a very successful blood drive. On Dec. 2, MHS JROTC cadets were up at the school at 0800 helping the OBI set up for the day. These cadets worked the blood drive until after first lunch, making sure the day ran as smooth as possible. After lunch the second round of cadets came to help out, giving the others a break. Considering being in the new JROTC building instead of the gym, we had 104 donors. The donations helped saved 312 lives that appreciate the donors who took the time. Altogether, the blood drive was a major success in a new location. We are in preparation of the second blood drive in the spring and we hope to see more donors. 1

Of the 8 battleships that were targeted during the Pearl Harbor attacks, all but 2 were eventually repaired and returned to the U.S. Navy's fleet. The USS West Virginia and the USS California had both sunk completely, but the Navy raised them, repaired them, and reused them. Every year, since 2006, the Wreaths Across America(WAA) organization places wreaths on the graves of veterans during the Christmas Season. On the 12th of December 25 cadets volunteered their time to help WAA place wreaths on the graves and honor our fallen heroes. 50 Meter Target Winter Break…19 DEC 15 – 4 JAN 16 JPA Inspection …………..14 JAN 2016 MLK Jr. Birthday………...18 JAN 20 16 DECA Fashion Show…...23 JAN 2016 JLAB RD-2…….………….1-15 FEB 2016 Breast Week………………….8 FEB 2016 Teacher Talent Show…..11 FEB 2016 2
