1 Newsletter- Christmas!
Offmore Primary School A very merry Christmas from the Offmore Team-we still have two fun filled days as we break up on Friday 16th December. Have a safe and happy break, we look forward to seeing you in 2017 and would like to say a big thank you for all the support you have given school and your children in 2016. Christmas Fayre… A huge thank you to our fantastic PTA who worked so hard to make our Christmas Fayre such a huge success. From Santa reading stories around the fire in the forest to delicious food and lots of games and stalls. All of this hard work has led to a fantastic £2000 being raised that will really benefit the children of Offmore Primary School. Attendance: Attendance for the year so far is 96.0%. A super effort from the following classes: Week ending – Ben Macdui 99.6% Week ending – Hound 97.8% Lates: We have had 271 lates so far for the autumn term! Can we remind all parents that children in years R - 6 should be on the playground at 8.35am at the latest so that they can enter school and be in their class just before 8.45am. Diabetes UK – Offmore Primary has been nominated for the Diabetes UK Good Diabetes Care in School Award, a brand new school award scheme which celebrates and showcases schools that deliver good care and support to children and young people with Type 1 diabetes. As part of the nomination, Diabetes UK is inviting parents and carers to complete a brief online parent survey at Please follow the link to the survey if you would like to show your support or to oppose this nomination. The survey should take no more than 2 minutes to complete. You can select to answer this survey anonymously. Please be advised that you have until 6th January 2017 to respond to this parent survey. Newsletter Offmore Primary School Christmas events- Our fantastic children have entertained you all in a variety of ways. There have been songs and stories in the forest, snowmen dancing in the nursery garden and aliens from outer space! Our Year 3/4 children have educated us all in understanding how to make the world a better place and our talented and artistic 5/6 children held a Victorian Fayre that has equipped you all for Christmas and raised lots of money in the process. We really appreciate the support you give your wonderful children and thank you for helping make Offmore Primary School such a wonderful place to be. Christmas Fun Run: Despite, gloomy wet weather, everyone was full of energy and excitement for our Fun Run. We saw some great efforts and fabulous hats! We were really pleased to see children encouraging each other and working as a team. There was a fantastic atmosphere and lots of smiling and laughing. You were all awesome! Mr Ascroft was looking very festive with his Christmas jumper and shorts!! Thank you for participating in our Fun Run. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Look out for more events in the Spring term. Report written by ‘The Sports Crew’. Wellies As a school we use every part of our wonderful site for learning opportunities. We would really appreciate it if you could bring in your wellingtons that no longer fit so that we can begin to build a ‘welly bank’ ready for muddy wet days. If you have any spare wellies, please just bring them in and give them to your classteacher. Go-Pro- The PTA have very kindly purchased 2 Go-Pro cameras for use around school. They had their first official outing yesterday, as the Christmas fun run was filmed by Reception. Look out for more birds eye views into life at Offmore in the new year. All pupils return to school on Tuesday 3rd January 2017. Christmas at Offmore! Thursday 15th December is party day at Offmore! Children may wear their party clothes (sensible shoes please) and bring in a small amount of party food. On Friday 16th December children are welcome to bring in a small toy or game to use in the classroom. No expensive or electronic games and please make sure that all items are clearly named.
