Antarctica is a continent at the South Pole. It is the coldest of all continents.

3 It is so cold that nobody lives there
It is so cold that nobody lives there. Only brave scientists come to work here.

5 The coldest place in Antarctica is the Russian Vostok Station
The coldest place in Antarctica is the Russian Vostok Station. One day the temperature there was -89,2 C! But the brave Russian scientists are not afraid of the cold!

6 At the South Pole summer and winter are six months long
At the South Pole summer and winter are six months long! In summer it’s always day and in winter it’s always night. Summer begins in December.

7 The seas around Antarctica are full of life
The seas around Antarctica are full of life. Whales, seals and even sharks live in them.

8 There are 4 kinds of penguins in Antarctica.

9 Scientists often find dinosaurs’ fossils in Antarctica.
That’s because million years ago Antarctica was warmer. And the dinosaurs lived there.

Antarctica is famous for it’s icebergs. Icebergs looks beautiful, but they are very dangerous.
