This Week in 2A… Language Arts: How-to Informational writing; text to world connections; Fundations – Unit 6 Assessment Math: addition with regrouping (partial sum & traditional methods) Science: light energy; innovation time - circuits Social Studies: Black History Month research project; Have a great weekend! Next Week’s Schedule Mon : Day 6 - Music Tues Day 1 – Library & World Languages Wed : Day2 – World Languages & Swimming Thurs : Day 3: Gym & Music Fri : Day 4: Art Trick Word Practice What are trick words? In our Fundations work, we learn that trick words are words that do not follow the typical pattern we are learning. These words cannot be “tapped out” and must be memorized instead. I sent home trick word list #2 earlier this week. Please help your child practicing both reading and spelling of these words several times a week. Black History Month Thank you to our parent volunteers who have been able to share information about Black History month with us. This includes Mrs. Wooten, Mrs. Filak, Mr. & Mrs. Mendez, and Mrs. Mathie. We are looking forward to a special visitor thanks to Dr. Snyder-Duch, along with other parent presentations next week! Upcoming Events Wednesday, March 1st – Ash Wednesday Prayer Service 1:30pm Saturday, March 4th – First Reconciliation 10am. March 13th – 17th – NO SCHOOL. Spring Break! .
