4 Other advantages of the HSA:
2018 medical plans – introducing the High deductible health plan (HDHP) with Health savings account (HSA) Lower payroll premium contributions in exchange for a higher deductible The plan is considered a qualified HDHP so you are eligible for a tax- advantaged HSA Contributions and withdrawals for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses are tax-free (+ interest/investment earnings are also tax-free) Bentley will contribute to your HSA, and you can too, up to the IRS limits: $3,450 Individual / $6,900 Family for 2018 If you are 55 or older or turning 55, you can contribute an additional $1,000 in catch-up contributions Other advantages of the HSA: Funds can be used to pay for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses for you and your eligible dependents now—and in retirement (e.g., Medicare premiums) Because it’s a savings account owned by you, it’s portable, which means that the funds follow you, and balances roll over from year-to-year You can make payments (drawing on your HSA balance) with a convenient debit card You can take advantage of long-term investment options once you reach a certain balance

5 Hsa eligibility In order to contribute to an HSA, you must meet the following criteria: You must be enrolled in a qualified High Deductible Health plan (HDHP), such as the one Bentley is offering You cannot have other health coverage (see IRS Publication 969) You (or your spouse/partner, if a tax dependent) cannot be enrolled in any part of Medicare or Medicaid You cannot be listed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return You cannot be active in the military* You cannot be enrolled in a Health FSA (including through a spouse’s plan) or have a Health FSA balance * Veterans enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plans with no other disqualifying coverage and who have a service-connected disability may make or receive HSA contributions regardless of when they received VA benefits
