Living Things Have Cells What is a cell What do all cells have? What is the role of the cell? A small unit of a living organism A cell membrane The cell breaks down food and excretes or gets rid of wastes.

What is homeostasis? What is a stimuli? The maintenance of a changing environment A change that affects the activity of an organism Ex: chemicals, light, hunger, gravity & sounds

How does your body respond to change? What is a normal body temperature? How do living things control their body temperature? Shiver, sweat 37 degrees C or degrees F They move from one environment to another EX: warm-shade

4 Living Things Reproduce
What is the difference between sexual and asexual reproduction? How do the characteristics of offspring of asexual and sexual rep. differ Sexual rep. consists of two parents producing offspring Asexual rep. involves a single parent producing offspring Asexual-clones Sexual-similar characteristics and same genes

What is metabolism? How do humans get their energy? The sum of all activities that the organism performs FOOD

7 Living Things Grow and Develop
What do all living things do? How do single celled organisms grow? Grow and develop Cells get larger and divide
