1 Rhetorical SITUATION We are at a convention for Canadian retailers, transportation brokers and yard management companies. I am a representative from Guard RFID Solutions and am here to detail the benefits of implementing an RFID asset-tracking system. The Primary audience are CEOs and local entrepreneurs looking to modernise their yard processes and improve the efficiency of their supply chains.

2 Active RFID Asset-tracking solutions

3 Purpose statement Discuss some of the emerging trends in RTLS and how RFID is becoming a supply chain staple Outline how RFID tracking can improve the accuracy and efficiency of your distribution Introduce the AllGuard Active RFID Asset-Tracking System

4 In this presentation… Recent Trends in Asset-Tracking
Introducing active RFID into RTLS An overview of the AllGuard Active RFID Asset-Tracking System How AllGuard Asset-Tracking can benefit your business Conclusions and Purchasing information

5 Barcodes Inexpensive. Reliable. Can be sent via email.
Need to be scanned individually. Limited information.

6 Components of Real-Time Location Systems (rtls)
Barcodes GPS (Global Positioning Systems) Radar Satellite Navigation RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)

7 Trends in RTLS RFID technology unsuitable in many locations.
Signal disrupted by heavy metals Generally only used for tracking personnel

8 An early adopter Wanted to reduce asset loss and travel time for stock. Implemented an RFID Asset-Tracking system in 2006. Uses passive tags in-store and active tags for shipping and receiving. Improved efficiency of supply chain management. Greater availability of product saw sales increase nearly 16%.

9 Active RFID in the supply chain
Identifier Tags are attached to inventory items and all relevant data on the stock is stored on a microchip. Active tags emit a UHF radio signal when an interrogator signal is detected. Data is sent to readers via a built in transponder. Readers are placed at different stages along the supply chain and transmit data to a central server

10 The allGuard Active RFID Asset-Tracking System – An Overview.
Active RFID tags on stock or personnel RFID readers installed at stopping points along the supply chain ARGUS 3.0 middleware program collects and presents reader data to authorized users Additional RTLS and security systems including barcode scanning, GPS or CCTV

11 Heavy-duty tags 433 Megahertz signal can pierce 2 inches of steel.
Effective range of 100 meters. Retail for around 5$ USD.

12 Different rEADERS for Different jobs
The exact configuration of readers will vary depending on the location as well as the size of the product. Guard RFID recommends large stationary readers for shipping and receiving, and handheld readers for retail or storage. The range of the interrogating signal varies according to the size and power of the reader.

13 ARGUS 3.O and additional rtls
Displays data collected by readers to the user. Maintains a dedicated server for tracking multiple shipments at once. Fully-compatible with third party RTLS software Acts as a central platform for all asset-tracking systems.

14 Features and Benefits of the Allguard SYSTEM
How can the AllGuard Active RFID Asset-Tracking System benefit your company? Enhance inventory efficiency Increase revenue Reduce Asset Loss

15 Enhance Inventory Efficiency
Obtain all product information with a single scan. Improved accuracy of RFID scanning can decrease receiving and shipping times by as much as 80% Productivity of stock and inventory checks increased at the retail level by 73%

16 Increase Revenue Increasing the security and accuracy of the supply chain process lowers insurance deductibles Less time spent doing yard and inventory checks means shorter shifts for staff. Faster, more accurate access to supply chain data makes it easier to keep items in stock.

17 Reduce Asset Loss Instant notification for problems during shipping/receiving allows for quick replacement. Increased visibility allows the user to plan for spoilage or potential damaged goods. Alongside CCTV and additional security methods, RFID can provide an extra measure of theft- prevention.

18 Conclusions The AllGuard Active RFID Asset-Tracking System allows users to track assets in real time for the entirety of the supply-chain process. This can improve the efficiency of the supply chain and allow the client to adapt to changing conditions as soon as they occur. In 2015, A GL1 survey of 500 separate companies in the United States found that 69% were either in the process of implementing Active RFID RTLS, or were considering adopting such a system in the near future.
