Find the list of commonly used prepositions in the grammar book, and copy them into your notes. Memorize them! Just because it’s a good idea!

6 What is a prepositional phrase?
a prepositional phrase will begin with a preposition and end with a noun, pronoun, gerund (an –ing verb), or clause, the "object" of the preposition.

7 What is a prepositional phrase?
The object of the preposition will often have one or more  modifiers to describe it. These are the patterns for a prepositional phrase:

12 Prepositional phrases can function as an:
Adjective – answers the question: “which one?” The sweet potatoes in the vegetable bin are moldy. The note from joseph confessed that he had eaten the leftover pizza.

adverb – answers the questions: how? When? Where? Freddie is sore from yesterday’s football practice. Before class, Beatrice begged leo for a pencil.
