2. The Vision
To create a HESC Skills Academy that would provide high quality cutting edge training to meet the needs of the challenging and changing HESC work place.

3. Our Focus
Raising students aspirations and standards of training. Ensuring tutors have the relevant clinical expertise to deliver effectively
Integrating ‘Gold Standard’ theoretical and practical training into level 1 to 3 provision
To ensure students are ‘work ready’ to improve employment opportunities and to save employers time and money on training
Developing strong links with employers to meet market needs and ensure our training is responsive to those needs

4. The Aim Dementia Awareness Vital Signs Safeguarding Infection Control
‘ To provide ‘GOLD STANDARD TRAINING’
This will not only raise the standards of training we offer our students from level 1 to 3 but will also equip them to compete at the highest level of skills competency in the work place.
Also providing them with a USP through our training skills portfolio, ensuring students complete training that will mean they are ‘work ready’.

DMBC – delivering changes in HESC ‘Help To Live At Home’
Building Better Opportunities – delivering 5 Ways To Wellbeing and Support Planning (volunteering)
Home instead – delivering - Relationship Focused Care and What the Care Market will look like in the next 5 years. Dementia Friends Training (paid opportunities)
NHS professionals - providing paid opportunities for students in the Sheffield area to work in clinical settings for 6 months supported by a Mentor

6. Progress and Partners – continued
Moving and Manual Handling NHS Passport Training, providing standardised training as partners of interagency provision with the DBH, DMBC RDASH and Doncaster College
I Care Ambassador's – Sharing good practice as part of our Induction and core delivery. Promoting the development of the right skills, values and talent for the Care Sector and employment opportunities
Age UK – Sharing good practice and providing volunteering and employment opportunities and interview expertise and experience

7. Work Placements
We will also be providing students with a broader range of cutting edge Placements/Mentoring, Volunteering and paid work that reflect the changes in HESC as well as interview opportunities into paid employment when the training is completed

8. The Future
We believe the Skills Academy will offer our students a unique opportunity, raising students’ aspirations and ensuring they are highly skilled and ready to meet the changing demands of employment in the HESC sector.
We aim to raise standards in the sector and improve employment opportunities for our students.
We plan to expand the numbers of partners we are working with to reflect the evolving diversity of employment opportunities.
This exciting project offers us all an opportunity to strengthen links with employers and the sector and to equip our students with the highest standard of training and practical skills to enable them to compete at the highest levels of skills competency and contribute to raising standards in the sector.
