1 Amplitude versus frequency transvaginal color Doppler sonography (TV-CDS). A: Frequency-based TV-CDS shows solid mass within the left ovary without significant central flow. B: Same patient as in (A). Amplitude TV-CDS confirms lack of central vascularity and better delineates the peripheral rim of the vessels. C: Vascular-stained photomicro-graph shows large vessels within the wall of a hemorrhagic corpus luteum of patient shown in (A) and (B). D: Multiloculated, mostly cystic mass on frequency-based TV-CDS. One locule contained low-level echoes. E: Same patient as in (D). Amplitude TV-CDS showed vascularity within wall of this hemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst. The wall of the hemorrhagic locule shows more flow than the other walls. F: Frequency-based TV-CDS shows low-impedance, high-velocity flow within a solid ovarian mass. G: Same patient as in (F), showing similar impedance and velocities. This was a clear cell carcinoma.
