4. Florida Center for Reading Research
Reading research over the last 20 years has identified the critical skills that students must acquire very early in reading development to ensure that they can read at grade level by third grade.
The development of these skills is critical to getting off to a good start in reading.
Students who lag behind in the development of these skills in early elementary school are in danger of not being able to read at grade level by third grade.
